How to Install Auto Schem on Donut SMP

This guide walks you through installing Auto Schem on Minecraft Fabric 1.21.11 for use on Donut SMP and any Fabric-compatible server. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes.

Prerequisites

Before installing Auto Schem, make sure you have the following ready:

  • Minecraft Java Edition (version 1.21.11)
  • Java 21 or newer installed on your system
  • A working internet connection to download the mod files
  • At least 4 GB of RAM allocated to Minecraft (8 GB recommended for large builds)

Step 1: Install Fabric Loader

Fabric Loader is the mod loader that Auto Schem runs on. It's lightweight and doesn't conflict with Minecraft's performance.

  1. Visit fabricmc.net/use/installer
  2. Download the Universal Installer (.jar)
  3. Run the installer and select Minecraft 1.21.11 as the target version
  4. Click Install — this creates a new "fabric-loader-1.21.11" profile in your Minecraft Launcher

Step 2: Download Required Dependencies

Auto Schem requires two dependencies to function: Fabric API and Baritone.

  • Fabric API — Provides essential hooks for Fabric mods. Download the version for Minecraft 1.21.11 from Modrinth or CurseForge.
  • Baritone — The pathfinding engine that Auto Schem uses for automatic block placement and navigation. Download the Fabric 1.21.11 build.

Place both .jar files into your .minecraft/mods/ folder.

Step 3: Install Auto Schem

Now download the Auto Schem mod itself:

  1. Go to autoschm.online/download
  2. Click the Download button to get AutoSchm-1.21.11.jar
  3. Place the file in your .minecraft/mods/ folder alongside Fabric API and Baritone

Your mods folder should now contain exactly three files: Fabric API, Baritone, and Auto Schem.

Step 4: Launch Minecraft and Configure

  1. Open the Minecraft Launcher
  2. Select the fabric-loader-1.21.11 profile
  3. Click Play
  4. Once in-game, press M to open the Auto Schem schematic browser
  5. Press O to open the configuration panel and adjust placement speed, Baritone reach, and inventory swapping settings

Step 5: Load a Schematic and Auto-Build on Donut SMP

  1. Place your .litematic or .schem file into .minecraft/schematics/
  2. Press M in-game to browse your schematics
  3. Select a schematic — a green wireframe overlay appears in the world
  4. Position the wireframe where you want the build placed
  5. Press B to begin automatic building

Auto Schem will use Baritone pathfinding to navigate to each block position, swap materials from your hotbar, and place blocks layer-by-layer until the entire structure is complete.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • "Mod requires Fabric API" — Make sure you downloaded Fabric API for the correct Minecraft version (1.21.11).
  • Baritone not responding — Ensure you have the Fabric build of Baritone, not the Forge or standalone version.
  • Schematic not loading — Check that your file is in .minecraft/schematics/ and is in .litematic or .schem format.
  • Low FPS during building — Open Auto Schem settings (O key) and reduce placement speed to lower TPS impact.
  • Kicked from Donut SMP — Reduce placement speed in settings. Some servers have anti-cheat that flags rapid block placement.
